Annual hybrid battery service — catch a weak block while it's still one block
A hybrid battery doesn't fail all at once. It fails one block at a time, and the rest of the pack works harder to cover for it until they're all tired. Testing and rebalancing yearly catches that early — while it's a small job instead of a full replacement.

Why an annual service is worth it here specifically
Nickel-metal hydride packs age faster at high temperature, and Phoenix supplies about five months a year of it. On top of that, Toyota and Lexus cool these packs with cabin air — so dust, pet hair and cargo pushed against the intake vent directly raise how hot your pack runs, every day, for years.
Both of those are gradual. Neither sets a warning light until the damage is done. An annual check is the only realistic way to see it happening while you can still do something cheap about it.
The economics are the whole argument
Replacing one weak module during a routine service costs a fraction of replacing a pack that the weak module dragged down. The service pays for itself the first time it catches something.
What the annual service includes

What it can't do
An annual service protects a pack that still has life in it. It does not restore one that's already finished. If your pack is well past its useful life, we'll tell you that rather than sell you a service that delays the inevitable by a month.
When to book it
Spring, before the heat arrives — April or May rather than August. The cooling system is about to do its hardest work of the year, and that's the moment a restricted intake or a tired fan costs you the most.
If you're a seasonal resident leaving for the summer, book it before you go rather than the week you get back. Everyone gets back at the same time.
